SAS116 - Avionics Lead Technician

Job Purpose


The Avionics Lead Technician will plan and oversee the manufacture, assembly and testing of avionic components from drawings to exacting tolerances (under Part 21G approval). To support the installation and commissioning of avionic modifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervision of a small team of skilled avionic technicians, in the production of parts from drawings to meet or exceed customer, regulatory and company standards;
  • To coordinate manpower to ensure adherence to budget and timescales;
  • To adapt to the changing requirements of our organisation and be prepared to work under Part 21 or Part 145 regulation as required by the tasks in hand;
  • The completion of paperwork i.a.w. company and regulatory requirements;
  • To provide clear, constructive feedback to the design team to ensure the highest standards and continuous improvement of our product;
  • Ensure compliance with the requirements of the Company’s Production Organisation Handbook and other Company design and manufacturing standards;
  • Support transversal areas such as design, customer liaison, and procurement;
  • Any other duties required by the company as may be consistent with the role.

Emergency Response

  • Maintain knowledge of the emergency response programme policies, processes and procedures, as defined by the Emergency Response Procedures. Be prepared to respond in a crisis as an ERP representative, if required by the role. 

Essential Skills & Qualifications

Desirable

  • Experience working for a Part 21G production organisation and Part 145 maintenance organisation;
  • Experience of managing and organising a team of Engineers;
  • Willingness to work outside of normal working hours, if required;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to work;
  • Confident, approachable and enthusiastic;
  • Accurate, numerate with excellent attention to detail;
  • Team player with the ability to work autonomously;
  • Flexibility to travel, when required;
  • Excellent communication skills.
