SAS165 – Maintenance and Technical Services Controller
Job Purpose
The Maintenance and Technical Services Controller is responsible for providing operational support in an airworthy controlled framework to ensure compliance with the Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition requirements to maximise Fleet Availability, whilst ensuring the operational fleet remains compliant with UK Air Law at all times.

Key Responsibilities
- Forecast and schedule aircraft maintenance, materials, and workload for both line and base maintenance stakeholders, management of the base maintenance slot plan and the major component overhaul plan;
- Coordinate efficient aircraft recovery in AOG situations, provisioning spares, tooling, resource and acting as the liaison between OEMs, Engineers, Customers and Company stakeholders, keeping them informed of maintenance status and recovery timelines;
- Build, monitor, audit and close work packages, supervise progress of work with field and base maintenance teams;
- Collaborate and coordinate the Logistics Teams to ensure parts availability for planned maintenance;
- Chair daily meetings to update stakeholders on the fleet status, driving action items and progress chasing in order to maintain fleet standards;
- Support the reliability program including maintenance program recommendations and robust process that encourages reliability developments;
- Responsible for the accurate management of aircraft configuration and modification status. Owner of procedures that manage multiple medical configurations and regular modification changes to suit customer requirements;
- Maintain current and accurate aircraft maintenance status in Company maintenance databases, including creation, amendment and management of all task card templates on Aerotrac (Maintenance Information System);
- Responsible for all technical communications with the manufactures and OEM’S regarding technical queries (TQ) and service operation reports (SOR). Acting as the focal point of contact for Airframe, Structures, Avionics and Engine technical service matters including liaison with the Part 145 service suppliers;
- Management of defect deferrals and deferral extensions IAW MEL & RIE;
- Responsible for the delivery and continuous improvement of the AD and SB review process including chair of the monthly review committee;
- Emergency Response - Responding to crisis events as an Emergency Response Plan Coordinator and maintaining knowledge of the company emergency response programme policies, processes and procedure;
- Acting as a Duty Engineering Manager, on rotation, to provide 24/7 response to developing emergency and AOG situations.

Emergency Response
- Maintain knowledge of the emergency response programme policies, processes and procedures, as defined by the Emergency Response Procedures. Be prepared to respond in a crisis as an ERP representative, if required by the role.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Aeronautical Engineering / Aviation Maintenance
- Line Maintenance Planning within an aviation background/ environment
- Good understanding and experience of technical aircraft maintenance practices and regulations
- Proven experience in coordination of a live operational environment
- Ability to interpret OEM and technical documentation
- Good command of both verbal and written English
- IT and MS Office proficiency
- A positive attitude and solutions orientated approach
- A high degree of customer focus, both internal and external
- Proven ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work shifts and willingness to work outside of normal working hours, if required
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to work
- Confident, approachable and enthusiastic
