SAS157 - Touring Pilot / Commander

Job Purpose

To fulfil the duties of a Touring Company Pilot / Commander delivering HEMS operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compliant and efficient flight operations in support of HEMS operations;
  • Conduct Company duties with diligence and professionalism, and operate in accordance with the Company operations manual and other regulatory requirements;
  • Be responsible for actively engaging with the Company safety reporting scheme, taking a pro-active stance on risk management, reporting all reportable occurrences, and reporting any other events which may contribute towards continual improvement in safety;
  • Display kindness and professionalism whilst acting as a representative of the Company and actively engage with our charity partners and other industry stakeholders.

Health and Safety

  • Understand individual operational safety and security responsibilities;
  • Be aware of personal health and safety and the health and safety of others at work.

Rostering in accordance with applicable FTL Scheme

Applicants shall be required to live, or be willing to find suitable accommodation within 45 minutes of Redhill Aerodrome but also be willing to travel and work from any other base in accordance with applicable FTL.

Minimum Requirements:

  • UK CAA Part-FCL (or EASA) ATPL (H) or CPL(H) with Class 1 Medical privileges
  • Valid Instrument Rating
  • Current UK/ EU passport
  • Level 6 English Language Proficiency (as shown on your licence)
  • EU/UK Driving Licence
  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • Meet the minimum requirements for a HEMS Commander as stated within the SAS OM
  • 1000 HRS PIC/ Commander of which 500 HRS are as PIC/ Commander in helicopters
  • MP type rating or evidence of UK CAA Part-FCL(/EASA) ATPL theoretical credits
  • 500 hours of total time operating in twin turbine helicopters in an operational environment similar to the intended operation

Desirable:

  • 2000 HRS total time
  • AW169 type rating
  • NVG experience

All candidates will be required to hold a UK CAA CPL(H) with ATPL theory exams, or a UK CAA ATPL(H). An instrument rating revalidated within the previous 6 years is required for all roles.

None of the roles are suitable for commuting from abroad.
